With gratitude to the designers & makers of Solomon Street clothing
I received my earth saving leggings yesterday = a gift to absolutely brighten up my day as we live ‘the only constant is change’ wave and dance on the shifting carpet that is South Australia @ the moment!!!
Back to the earth saving leggings….. As a Yoga teacher, a Visual Art teacher and subscriber to colour = exactly what I have been looking for – where visual art meets earth saving fashion. To be robed in earth friendly threads is heart-warming and soul amplifying as opposed to being wrapped in ‘gladwrap’….
I look forward to bending & stretching in my earth friendly strides and also wearing them as tights to jazz up my Winter wardrobe in 2021.
Also love the attention to detail with the accompanying bag with instructions on how to send out that earth friendly ripple into other areas of our life/products we use.
Your passion and influence is inspiring. I anticipate another purchase not too far away.
😊Big smiles from my heart to yours
I love love love this crop! I love the versatility of being able to wear this crop either way!
Super comfortable, and being a busty girl, I do find it hard to find comfortable crops, but this one ticks all the right boxes.
These are some of the most comfortable tights I've ever worn! I love it because I can work out in them but also comfortably wear them around the house.
They are super cozy and they fit really well!
I love the print!
I want to buy them in all prints!
I am generally a size 10-12, so I ordered the 10 for a more snug fit. When they arrived, they were miles too big. Not at all what you want in a pair of leggings imo. They're baggy around the crotch and don't give you the firmness and support you'd expect of a $140 pair of pants. Whilst I like the decision to use hemp, there are imperfections in the fabric which have been printed over, leaving white flecks all over. The texture is less like a firm, stretchy, body-shaping fabric and more like an old cotton T-shirt with a bit of give. The print is gorgeous, but the colour ("midnight") is way, way less dark than it appears in photos and is more a bright, royal blue up close. The opacity is enough to wear them without a long jacket, but light at the knees and I feel if I'd sized down, I'd lose the opacity altogether. In short, the print is insanely cute, and the eco packaging is a lovely touch, but had I known what I'd be getting I'd have paid maybe $75, max. Bit of a shame. I'm a single parent and this was a bit of a "treat yo' self" moment for me. Good marketing, but the products (or pricing, or both) need work.
Thanks so much for your honest review. I’m so sorry you felt the price does not reflect the quality of the product. I always endeavour to provide products that are accessible in their price-point as I believe everyone should have access to buying ethical and sustainable clothes. This comes as quite a challenge as we pay a premium price for sustainable fabrics and manufacturing in Australia
Our choice to use hemp was out of the belief that as a society we need to move forward using natural sustainable fibres, not synthetics. As a natural fibre, hemp has flecks called slubbing, which when digitally printed on do stop a fleck of the printing actually reaching the fabric. This is unfortunate and something we’re working on, but its a result of us using the most sustainable fabric AND printing method. Digital fabric printing is by far the most sustainable as any ink used goes directly on the fabric meaning there is zero runoff and zero waste. You can find all this information on our website under faq’s as we practice radical transparency which means we share every component of our business and products with you guys. We know that nature isnt perfect, it certainly isnt as perfect as man made fabrics, but we have decided to work with what nature provides, rather than working against it. This doesn’t come without flaws, but I believe that this is what makes each piece unique, just like an imperfect sunflower.
As for the fit of your leggings, We have worked tirelessly to make sure the leggings are super comfortable to wear. We recommend they be worn for low impact sports such as yoga and pilates as they are Definitely not compression tights, containing only 5% elastane (to reduce microplastics in the wash). Most Compression brands use around 20% elastane for that super tight fit you’re used to. As a size 10 myself, and someone who is tired of the fluctuating sizing of womens fashion, I have made it my goal to provide garments that are size accurate. Please make sure that when purchasing you primarily purchase on your waist and hip measurement (rather than the leg length) as this dictates how form fitting the garment will be.
I would like to offer you the option (Shipping on us) of trying our size 8 leggings for fit, If you’re still not 100% happy with your purchase we can provide you with a full refund.
I will send you an email to organise the exchange.
I love these so much! I can’t say enough about how comfortable they are. They have formed to fit my body perfectly, especially around my stomach where I usually find leggings are too tight. They stretch without getting baggy and I love that they are kind to the environment.
