Lantana is a small shrub with deep green, dry leaves, and flower globes made of tiny delicate flowers. Their flowers come in many different colours, and they are found all around Suburban Adelaide. They are part of the Sage family, characterised by the release of a strong, bitter scent when their leaves are crushed. The scent inspires memories of when I was young, playing in the garden.
This limited edition Lantana design has been hand-drawn with colour pencils and digitally printed on a mid-weight hemp and cotton jersey, which is as strong as it is soft. The Fabric has been cut and sewn in Adelaide’s north, by a family run Ethical Clothing Australia manufacturer who specialise in stretch garments. This piece is one of only fifty created in this limited edition print.
Five dollars from every piece sold in the Lantana collection will be lent to Patricia Yuranis from Cartagena, Columbia to grow her clothing manufacturing business. Once repaid these funds will continue to empower and support female entrepreneurs living in remote rural communities. You can read more about Patricia’s story here.
